The Election Commission has convened a meeting with heads of enforcement agencies and security forces on Friday to finalize strategies aimed at protecting voters from bribery during the Bihar Assembly elections.
The Chief Secretary of Bihar and the Director General of Police (DGP) will also participate in the meeting virtually alongside the state's Chief Electoral Officer.
This committee will discuss strategies to curb undisclosed expenditures by candidates and political parties, ensuring proactive and active measures from all law enforcement agencies during the upcoming elections.
Officials indicated that this initiative will enhance the sharing of intelligence and cooperation among law enforcement agencies to effectively tackle economic crimes.
Additionally, discussions will focus on measures to prevent the smuggling of goods, narcotics, alcohol, and counterfeit currency across interstate and international borders. Bihar shares its international border with Nepal.
The elections in Bihar are scheduled to take place in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with the counting of votes set for November 14.
